Black to white is the spectrum where form becomes meaning.
It is the quiet universe between presence and absence, where shadows shape understanding and light reveals truth. In this space, contrast becomes a language: black grounding us in depth and mystery, white lifting us toward clarity and possibility. Together they remind us that perception is born from difference, and that simplicity can hold infinite complexity.

To contemplate black to white is to contemplate balance, how beginnings emerge from endings, how silence frames sound, and how the world is continuously rewritten in tones between.

This work is part of a project that, fortunately, was interrupted. The piece was created on the shores of the drying Istan Lake, in the mountainous region of Marbella. Shortly thereafter, the rains returned, underscoring the fragile and shifting relationship between human intervention, artistic practice, and vulnerable ecosystems.

I Think of Water, 2023

The Songless Landscape, 2023

We painted in a forest where it was completely silent — the birds had disappeared. This artwork is from the Pyrocumulus series, a term that originally refers to a large fire cloud. We painted the piece together with eight art-walkers in the burned forest of the Mijas Mountains. The work emerged through meditative movement with people and the charred trees.

One Galgo, 2023

Natural charcoal, pastel, and gouache on recycled paper.

Winter Solstice, 2022

This is the first painting created in the Forest Experience project. I was walking in the burned forest with my daughter, and as an experiment, I brought along some paper. The forest painted with us. On that day, it was the darkest day of the year on the Northern Hemisphere.
